Force Drop 5 on Vancouver, Again

The Force went to Vancouver in May and put 5 goals into the net in the first 38 minutes of the match on their way to a 5-2 victory. It didn't happen quite that quickly this time but the boys in blue put together another fantastic performance on Saturday, this time at home.

Joe Sammartino got things started in the 20th minute, carrying the ball down the line, cutting into the box at the end line beating a defender and slotting it home in the far post. Sammartino was on target again 15 minutes later and it was 2-0 at halftime without the Force getting a lot of challenge from the visitors.

Sammartino is now tied for second in the golden boot race for the EPLWA with 5 goals in only 4 games

In the 58th minute, Vancouver took a quick free kick that caught the Force sleeping and they had an easy goal that seemed like it might give them hope. If it did, the hope faded 3 minutes later when Cole Dobson hammered a perfect corner from Jaisen Zurfluh into the net making it 3-1.

2 goals and an assist earned Zurfluh the White Claw Man of the Match

From that point on it was the Zurfluh show. Just five minutes later he would receive a ball from Eamon Stein on the right. Jaisen beat 3 defenders as he moved toward the middle of the field before letting go a cannon shot from 30+ yards that tore into the upper corner.

The cake topper came in the 82nd minute when Zurfluh again made two defenders go in opposite directions before they dropped him in the box for a penalty. He calmly slotted the ball away and the Force would end with their second 5 goal game of the season against Vancouver.
