Force Men Earn a Point Away at PAC NW

Force Men Earn a Point Away at PAC NW

6.1.19

The Force men traveled to Starfire Sports on Saturday to take on PAC NW with the away side looking for some redemption after a 7-2 loss at home to start the season.

A solid lineup of players for PAC NW including 4 midfielders from Seattle University was going to make the task a difficult one but a task the defense was up to.

The first 5 minutes of the game belonged to the Force with 3 really good scoring opportunities but unable to find the net for the early lead.  For most of the rest of the half, PAC enjoyed the lion's share of the possession with the Force willing to pressure and counter attack on turnovers.  Just before the halftime break, a free kick from the top left of the box was flicked onto the post by Jackson Moore and was only just cleared away by the PAC defense.  The ensuing throw in ended up getting turned on target again only to just catch the crossbar and rebound into the keeper's chest.  A couple of nice saves by Marcus Martin helped keep the scoreline at 0-0 at the half.

The second half was a continued highlight show for Jackson Moore.  His work rate both on defense was helping to keep PAC from being too dangerous, while his link up play on offense seemed to be pulling all the right strings.  The Force again had a few really good chances that went begging for more. PAC NW also had a couple of good chances but 2nd half keeper Cole Weaver managed to keep them out.  Finally, in the 68th minute, PAC made a mistake at the back and Gil de la Luz pounced on it and got into the box where he was brought down for a penalty.  Jackson stepped to the spot and calmly placed it past the keeper for a 1-0 lead.

Unfortunately, the only real lapse the Force defense had, came immediately after the goal, allowing PAC to travel the field after the restart and score to draw level.  There were a few more chances for each team as the game came to a close but neither team could break the deadlock.

With his performance on both sides of the ball, Jackson Moore was your White Claw Hard Seltzer Man of the Match.

With the draw, the Force remain in the top spot in the division at the half way point of the season and will now enjoy a weekend off before facing Oly Town Artesians on the 15th at Gordon Field.  This game is a Force Men's Supporter's Game with a special ticket available at a discount for ticket and t-shirt!
